1 June – Full day Hemsö.
2 June – Travel day to Boden.
3 June – Half day Boden, Vuollerim battery.
4 June – Half day Boden, Kamlunge battery.
5 June – Siknäs battery, return to Stockholm Arlanda and back home. Option to fly to Gothenburg for a continue.

27 May 2022
This part will be a co-share with FSG that are in the middle of their tour of Sweden.

Arrival at your own time to Stockholm Arlanda International Airport. You can choose to join the FSG visits to the ex-castle Nyköpings hus and the Cold War Femöre battery if you can be in Nyköping by latest 13:13 to join both. There will be a small extra fee for this.
The last train departing Arlanda to get to Nyköping by 13:13 is the 10:50 service arriving 12:45. (subject to minor changes as the 2022 schedule is not available yet).
If you arrive Nyköping earlier you can make your way to the Blommenhof Hotel just outside the city – 15 min walk from the station.
The Nyköpings hus is a former 16th century castle with parts dating back to the 12th century that burnt down in 1665. Some casemates are still viewable and we’ll walk around the castle area for about 20 minutes.
The Femöre battery in Oxelösund is a preserved Cold War 7,5 cm m/57 battery, very similar to the Hemsö battery that we will visit on 1st June. Return to the Hotel around 21:00.

If you choose just to get to the Hotel there are trains departing approx. one every hour, with one change in Stockholm arriving Nyköping little under two hours.
The Blommenhof Hotel is around 900 meters walk from the station. There is also taxi service at the station.

Level of difficulty (1-5): 3 – Around 2 km of walking during the day. Stairs and semi-lit rooms at Femöre fort, ladders up to the gun. Duration around 13h, 4½h of that is transportation but with multiple changes of trains and change from train to coach

28 May 2022
After hotel breakfast a day tour to Landsort island in the southern archipelago. Bus coach from the Hotel to the ferry out to Landsort. Bagage can be left on the coach. Visits to 15,2 cm m/98 battery and the modern 12 cm m/70 gun. On the island over 4 km walking. Charter boat back to the mainland and coach back to the northern Stockholm area, either Åkersberga or Vaxholm.

Level of difficulty (1-5): 4 – At least 4 km of walking on the island and in addition walking in the two guns with ladders and stairs. Duration around 12h, 4h of that is coach transport and 1h on ferry.

29 May 2022
After breakfast a day tour to Vaxholm area by coach with visits to the Vaxholm citadel, Rindö redutt, Oscar-Fredriksborg, Fredriksborg (with light lunch) and some of the Vaxholms defence line. Hotel in Åkersberga or Vaxholm.

Not included: Dinner.
Level of difficulty (1-5): 3 – At least 2 km of walking during the day exploring forts outside and also inside Vaxholm and Oscar-Fredrikborg. Semi-lit rooms and narrow spaces. Duration around 12h, on and off the coach during the day.

30 May 2022
After a hotel breakfast coach from the hotel to a water taxi over to Siarö fortress with a guided tour. Around lunch we are back on the mainland and will have an 1½h coach ride to the next water taxi från Simpnäs to Arholma, with the Cold War 10,5 cm m/50 gun. Guided tour and back on the mainland around 19:00. Either stay at Arlanda airport hotel or en route towards Arlanda.

31 May 2022
The FSG tour ends after Hotel breakfast and CDSG will continue north in rental cars, max four per car. NOTE! One driver has to volunteer per car for this to work.

After around two hours we will arrive to the Furuvik zoo that inside its premises has a preserved 7,5 cm m/05 battery with two of the three guns still intact.

Of of the two 75 mm guns still preserved.

After around 2h we’ll continue this long day with another almost 3h drive to catch a water-taxi to Storholmen island outside Sundsvall where there is a preserved 15,2 cm battery with a over 1 km long tunnel system. Same type of gun as on Landsort but these are ex-navy turrets and not designed for the coastal artillery as on Landsort.

Level of difficulty (1-5): 5 – A long day, at least 13h, 4½h in cars. At least 3 km of walking on Storholmen. Transport in smaller boats out to the island. Semi-lit rooms and lots of stairs and ladders.

1 June 2022

After a hotel breakfast a short hours drive to the island of Hemsö where we’ll be on that island for the whole day. Together with Aspö this is the most fortified island in the country and with a long history of coastal defence. We’ll start with a 4h tour of Storråberget with it’s three 15,2 cm m/51 twin-turrets from 1955 with a lunch break in the middle. After that a short transport on the island to a measuring station from 1973, feeding measuring data to the guns. Last transport to our hotel for the night, a 7,5 cm m/57 battery built in 1963 on Havstoudd. Dinner in the museum’s restaurant. Single/twin rooms for most, dormitories for a few. Shared toilets and showers. A hotel without windows but some 20 metres below ground.

Level of difficulty (1-5): 4 – Around 4 km of walking during the day. Stairs, semi-lit rooms in the main fort. The measuring station can only be reached by a vertical 4m shaft with ladder.

2 June 2022
Breakfast at Havstoudd.
Main goal today is to reach Boden, a five hour drive north along the Baltic coast. We have all day, some minor stops in military history can be done but it will mainly be a day of driving.

Included: Breakfast, transportation. Hotel single room.
Not included:  lunch and dinner.
Level of difficulty (1-5): 2 – Almost full day in a car. Time for rest for those not driving.

3 June 2022
Breakfast followed by a full day in Boden, the only true fortress of Sweden. Five bed-rock forts defended the area, Rödbergsfortet is still visible on the inside. Lunch included during the day. Rödbergsfortet has still 12 cm guns m/24 and 8,4 cm m/47 guns present as well as a training battery of 12 cm m/24.

We’ll continue the days with a tour of at least a few more forts, minor emplacements, a balloon hall, a radio bunker and many km of anti-tank “dragon-teeath” and if we have the time a look at the military museum of Boden, with mainly army vehicles.

During the day we’ll take an hours drive north-west to Vuollerim where a fort was made in the 1960s with an ex-navy 15,2 cm m/12 ex-navy twin-turret. This site has been a museum for a few years but is now without a tenant. Depending on the situation we might have to just look outside, hopefully have a tour before heading back to Boden.

4 June 2022
Half-day in Boden and then transfer to Viltfarmen close to Kamlunge. With a great collection of Cold War vehicles and memorabilia we can easily spend half a day here together with the Kamlunge battery with two ex-navy 15,2 cm guns in the middle of the forest. Dinner in the evening.

Level of difficulty (1-5): 3 – Around 2-3 km of walking during the day. Stairs, semi-lit rooms, tight spaces.

5 June 2022

A short transportation takes us to Siknäs battery, originally with eight 15,2 cm m/03 guns in four twin-turrets, also ex-navy. Today one turret is preserved externally and one internally.

Flight från Luleå in the afternoon, either to Stockholm or Gothenburg.
For international connections you have to pick-up luggage from domestic flight and check-in at international desks and clear security check. Allow at least 2 hours, for transatlantic connections 3 hours.

Included: Breakfast.
Not included: Lunch. Flight from Luleå.
Level of difficulty (1-5): 2 – The musuem are lit and have only minor parts that are tight in space.

Prices: 
The price does not include the domestic flight from Luleå in the end of the trip.
The prices are calculated on the scheduled tour for 2021 and are subject to some changes when the tour is getting closer.
Price is calculated on single room. If you can and want to share, please indicate that. At most night that will be an option with a reduction in price.
Changes in price due to unforeseen circumstances will be added to the price below and will be addressed as soon as possible. Example can be that a hotel closes due to aftermath of the pandemic.
For members of both FSG and CDSG that wants to join both trips there is a special price that includes both tours.

This tour costs 20.700 SEK including swedish tax.

Booking or interest in booking:
Should always start with a contact with lars@bunkertours.se, subject: CDSG- tour. The sooner the better with your intent. A confirmation from CDSG that you are a member will be done.
There is a booking fee of 3000 SEK that should be payed to bunkertours.se to secure a place on the trip. Payment can be made via paypal or bank transfer.
Payment of the total amount should be made latest seven weeks before the trip starts. Payment can be made via paypal or bank transfer.
Questions that you think will benefit others can be made here as well.
If attendees are less than 20 to this trip, bunkertours.se will add local non-CDSG members to join.

Pandemic and cancellation:
Bunkertours.se can not be responsible for flight tickets or other expenses outside Sweden.
Some of the sites are not usually open to the public and can therefor be subject to cancellation.

Insurance:
Bunkertours does not have a special insurance that handles cancelled transportation or events/guided tours. The traveller should have adequate insurance for travelling in Sweden.

Good to know:
Lunches will usually be sandwiches or similar from local supermarkets at the travellers own expense and purchase.
On some nights we will eat at the same place, otherwise there will be suggestions on various places in different price categories. Google is also good to suggest restaurants. At places with limited options tables will be preliminary booked for everyone in advance.
Coach travels as well as rental car travel mean a lot of lifting and carrying luggage. To be able to handle luggage on coaches and in cars, please try and cope with one check-in luggage and a smaller for camera etc.
List of things to bring will be distributed well before the trip.
Some days will be longer than others, some will have a higher tempo than others.
