A five day trip through mid and northern Albania and southern Montenegro. Bunkertours has been to Albania twice before, both in 2015.
Visits are;
Hoxha’s governmental bunker, BunkArt 1, in Tirana.
Bunker for parts of the parlament in Tirana, BunkArt 2.
Cable car in Tirana.
Kukes underground Cold War tunnel system.
Montenegro mountain hangar transfered to wine cellar.
Fortifications around Kotor w two ship tunnels and Austro-Hungarian forts.
Arrival on your own cost, latest 8th October at Tirana airport. Tour leader will arrive on Ryanair from Stockholm Arlanda at 19:50.
Departure on your own cost, earliest 13th October 17:50 at Tirana airport. Tour leader will depart on Wizz Air to Stockholm Skavsta at 17:50.
Price: 7.200 SEK (was earlier 8.100) (approx 300-400 less in twin room) (calculated on a SEK/€€ rate of 11,7)
Included in price: Rental cars with petrol (drivers needed). All hotels with breakfast and single rooms. Entrances.
Not included: Lunch, snacks and dinners. Transport to and from Albania. Transport from airport to hotel on arrival.
How to book: Seats are limited – send me a mail on lars(@)bunkertours.se. When I have said OK to join, book flights and prove that you have booked a flight or send a deposit. We’ll split costs between us during the trip.
Note: The itiniary will be changed if we would be allowed into any of the mountain hangars in Albania.
Itiniary
8 October
Arrival from your home and your way to a central hotel in Tirana, hotel Briliant (www.hotelbrilant.com).
9 October
Full day Tirana with visits to Bunkart 1 and Bunkart 2 as well as sightseeing in downtown Tirana. Transport will be by local buses. Cabel car up to a peak with close by abandoned hotel. Stay at same hotel as the first night.

10 October
After breakfast a 2h drive to Kukes with stop on the way. Afternoon and evening exploring parts of the network of tunnels and shelters under Kukes. This town had a similar system as Gjirokaster that was visited in 2015 with a network of tunnels under the city for sheltering the people of the town. It is said that the tunnels are up to 7 km long and bunkertours.se has finally found a guide to show us the system after trying since 2018.

11 October
Morning and a few hours to spare for more exploring in or around Kukes followed by a 3h drive into Montenegro and a former Jugoslavian mountain hangar, transformed to a wine cellar. We’ll try some wines and will have a tour of the hangar.
After approx. 3h on site we’ll continue to Hotel Montenegrino in Tivat for 2 nights.
12 October
Full day exploring the Rose peninsula with Austro-Hungarians forts in the region as well as at least two ship tunnels from the Cold War. Same hotel as yesterday.
Among other things we’ll follow in the footsteps of this book.
13 October
A few hours before lunch for more exploring around Kotor/Tivat before a 4h (200km) drive back to Tirana international airport where we’ll be latest 16:00 for a return to home.
